The Norris Park project took off in 2004 when Marquette University Student Government, which is co-sponsoring the dedication, commissioned a feasibility study to evaluate the space. As leadership changed over the years, student government continued to help move the plan forward to improve the neighborhood with green space and provide much-needed practice facilities for club and intramural sports. Several community organizations also have plans to use the park, including the Milwaukee Center for Independence and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. |
